What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to a pregnant women before, during and shortly after childbirth. Unlike a medical provider, a doula offers continuous, non-medical care to help you have a safe and empowering birth experience. 

What's the difference between a doula and a midwife?

A midwife is a medical professional who delivers babies and provides prenatal care. A doula does not perform medical tasks but focuses on your comfort, well-being and advocacy during birth. Both can be apart of your birth team, working together to support you. 

What if I have a scheduled cesarean?

I can absolutely support you! Cesarean births deserve the same emotional and physical care. I help you prepare, support you through the procedure, and offer postpartum assistance as you recover.

Do you help with fertility and conception?

What is placenta encapsulation, and why do people choose it?

Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing the placenta after birth. Cleaning, steaming, dehydrating and grinding it into powder to be put into capsules. Many people choose encapsulation for its potential health benefits, such as increasing energy, regulate hormones, milk supply and postpartum recovery for the body.
